09 Lives was founded by Sarah Warren in 2017. 

We are an Inclusive Theatre Arts Company that works collectively.

The company ethos is that theatre and art in all its forms should be available to everyone.

Artistic Director Sarah J Warren has worked with Graeae, Angelshed and Chickenshed and has been trained in Inclusive Theatre practice. Sarah is on the CPD with Graeae and Associate Artist with Unity Arts London and has collaborated with DH Ensemble and Hoxton Hall. She is an experienced Workshop Leader and also an Actor and Singer working in both mainstream and experimental performance arenas. Sarah has appeared in productions as varied as a puppeteer in MIDSUMMER MILLY TOUR, MACBETH with Malachite Shakespeare Company, the Scottish tour of THE NUTCRACKER and as Lady Jane Grey at the Tower Of London.

09 Lives' associate artists aim to produce work collaboratively to deliver high quality and unusual productions in interesting spaces.

Angus Chisolm

Angus trained on the MA Acting course at Arts Ed in London. He previously performed Ronan O'Donnell's BRAZIL at both the Edinburgh Festival and United Solo Festival in New York where his performance won Best Drama.  Angus has also appeared as Alsemero in the THE CHANGELING  in Abney Park and is Technical Designer on the SLAY design team.

Giorgio Galassi

was born in Italy, and has lived in London for ten years. With 09 Lives he appeared as Deflores in THE CHANGELING and Guy of Gisborne in THE VALOUR OF ROBIN HOOD and most recently as Sherlock Holmes  in the OFFIE nominated  HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES. Other credits include: Hippolytus in PHAEDRA, Romeo, Lysander, Nero in BRITANNICUS, Captain Papangelos in BOAT PEOPLE, the lead in NOTES FROM THE UNDERGROUND . He has also been a member of the ensemble in TITIUS ANDRONICUS at The Globe.  This year saw his debut as a director on A DEED WITHOUT A NAME by S I Witkiewicz  and he is Assistant Director of 09 Lives' production of THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME.

Amii Griffith

has been writing for over a decade, receiving funding from Film London at 15 for her short film THOSE FEW MINUTES. She was shortlisted for Channel 4's Storyliner initiative and took part in the London Screenwriters' Festival Talent Campus in 2017. She has recently been a participant on the Soho Theatre Play Lab for new writers. She wrote the gender fluid THE VALOUR OF ROBIN HOOD for 09 Lives and is collaborating on the full length version of WATERLOO MEDEA. Amii is also a Producer and Script Developer for Free At Last TV.

Anca Vaida

Anca is a founder of Awkward Branch Productions as writer/ director/ actor. Originally from Romania and trained at East 15 drama school. Since graduating, Anca has worked both in film and in theatre, collaborating with Richard Franklin (‘Dr Who’), Linda Clarke (‘Dr Who’) and Mark Holden (‘World War Z’) among others. She has written and directed several Awkward Branch short films, including ‘The Game’, that premiered at the Museum of Cinema, and ‘Can We Order First?’ that received the official selection at the Berlin Short Film Festival, being nominated for best LGBT short. In her spare time, Anca is also a doctor.

Lil Warren

Lil is a writer/director/performer. Over the last decade she has produced stand-up, one woman shows, pantomimes, adaptations, films, books and an original App! Her work has been produced at The Gilded Balloon, Pleasance, Hackney Empire, The Arts Theatre, Hoxton Hall, Riverside Studios, BAC and Hope Theatre. In 2018 her Victorian Gang musical ORANGES and ELEPHANTS (with Jo Collins) was presented at Hoxton Hall.

In 2019 she directed CELLFIES by Dean Stalham, FINE & DANDY by Sue Frumin in The Queer Season at The King’s Head and her own adaptation of THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES at Abney Park Cemetery. This year she is a director on the Sci-Fi Theatre Festival at the Pleasance, 09 Lives' Audio Verson of  THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES, Installation Designer on HACKNEY DISSENT at New Unity and a writer on HOXTON STREET theatre soap. She is also a member of the design collective SLAY.
